The Kraken responded quickly when the visiting Penguins got the first goal of the game on Saturday. Jordan Eberle scored his first goal of the season with 8:40 left in the second period, a little more than a minute after Pittsburgh took the lead, and Morgan Geekie put Seattle up with 1:27 left in the period. Jones stopped 32 shots in the win.
The Flames led 2-1 after two periods on Saturday night before the Oilers came back with two goals in a 3:22 span in the middle of the third period to hand Calgary a 3-2 loss. Mikael Backlund scored a shorthanded goal for the Flames and Brett Ritchie also found the cage.
Calgary swept four meetings from the Kraken in Seattle’s inaugural season last year. The teams are scheduled to play three times this season.
