After falling to conference rival Florida State by a touchdown last week, Clemson looks to get its season back on track when the Tigers visit undefeated Syracuse at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday. Clemson is off to an up-and-down start with bookend losses to Duke and No. 5 Florida State with wins against Charleston Southern and Florida Atlantic sandwiched between them. The Tigers are a disappointing 2-2 on the season, while Syracuse notched a win against Army to improve to a perfect 4-0 last week. The Orange swept their non-conference schedule for the first time since joining the Big East in 1991. Last season, Clemson survived in a 27-21 victory over Syracuse, improving the Tigers’ overall record against the Orange to 9-2.

Most recently, Clemson’s upset bid against No. 5 Florida State fell short in a 31-24 loss to the Seminoles at Memorial Stadium. Sophomore quarterback Cade Klubnik threw for 283 yards and Clemson ran for 146 yards on the ground, but the Seminoles scored on the second play of overtime and then held Clemson scoreless to earn the win.
As for the Orange, Syracuse remained perfect with a 29-16 victory over Army at home last week. Garrett Shrader rushed for the 29th touchdown of his career and threw for another 216 yards and a score to lead the Orange offense to a win. Damien Alford also had a breakout game with nine catches for 135 yards.
Syracuse looks to remain perfect when the Orange host Clemson on Saturday.
