Kings opening-night roster includes 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders
The LA Kings announced today its 23-player roster for opening night, which features 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
Forwards (14): Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Viktor Arvidsson, Quinton Byfield, Phillip Danault, Kevin Fiala, Carl Grundstrom, Alex Iafallo, Arthur Kaliyev, Adrian Kempe, Anze Kopitar, Brendan Lemieux, Blake Lizotte, Trevor Moore, and Gabriel Vilardi
Defensemen (7): Mikey Anderson, Brandt Clarke, Drew Doughty, Sean Durzi, Alex Edler, Matt Roy, and Sean Walker
Goaltenders (2): Cal Petersen, Jonathan Quick
As part of today’s roster moves, the Kings loaned Rasmus Kupari (F) and Andre Lee (F) to the Ontario Reign (AHL) while Jacob Moverare (D) and Pheonix Copley (G) cleared waivers this morning and were reassigned to Ontario.
In addition, defenseman Brandt Clarke has changed his number from 54 to 92.

• For the first time since 2008-09, the Kings Opening Night roster features two players – Kevin Fiala (33 with Minnesota), Adrian Kempe (35) – who scored 30 or more NHL goals the season prior.
