Brandon Saad is back.
The Blues forward, who spent 10 days in COVID-19 protocol but resumed skating on Saturday, is ready to return to the lineup for Wednesday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Kings (9 p.m. CT, BSMW, 101 ESPN).

“I’m really excited,” Saad said. “Anytime you’re away from your team for an extended period time, you’re always looking to get back and play hockey again. I’m definitely excited to play tonight.”
Saad was skating with Tyler Bozak and Pavel Buchnevich in Wednesday’s practice and figures to be there when the puck drops at game time.
“I got a little bit of time with each of them just through practices and things like that, (but) it is a new line for me,” Saad said. “Really, it doesn’t matter. I’m just looking to come back, play my game where ever I am at in the lineup, try to chip in and help the team win.”
“It’s huge to have Saader back,” added defenseman Robert Bortuzzo, who will return to the lineup Wednesday in place of Niko Mikkola. “He’s a consumate pro, he knows what he’s doing out there, he knows where to go. He wins a ton of battles, he’s very dangerous with his speed and power and ability to finish pucks. We’re excited to have him back. He’s going to be a big part of our group this year.”
Below is the rest of the projected lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Kings based on the morning skate.
