The Los Angeles Chargers watched the action from their couches last weekend, but are set to take to the field. They will square off against the New England Patriots at 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers are out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.

Los Angeles has to be hurting after a devastating 34-6 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago. Los Angeles was down 27-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for Los Angeles, but they got one touchdown from QB Justin Herbert.

Meanwhile, when you finish with 252 more yards than your opponent like New England did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 54-13 victory over the New York Jets. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-7. New England can attribute much of their success to RB Damien Harris, who rushed for two TDs and 106 yards on 14 carries.

The Chargers are the favorite in this one, with an expected 4.5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread two weeks ago might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

Los Angeles is now 4-2 while the Patriots sit at 3-4. A pair of defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Los Angeles is worst in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game, with 162.5 on average. New England’s defense has more to brag about, as they they enter the game with only four rushing touchdowns allowed, good for fourth best in the league. Maybe that strength will give New England the oomph they need to beat the odds.
