The Atlanta Falcons are 8-2 against the Carolina Panthers since October of 2016, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success next Sunday. The Falcons and Carolina will face off in an NFC South battle at 1 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The teams split their matchups last year, with Carolina winning the first 23-16 on the road and Atlanta taking the second 25-17.

Atlanta squeaked by the Miami Dolphins by less than a field goal, winning 30-28. Atlanta’s TE Kyle Pitts filled up the stat sheet, catching seven passes for 163 yards.

Special teams collected 12 points for Atlanta. K Younghoe Koo delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

Meanwhile, the Panthers’ and the New York Giants’ contest on Sunday was up for grabs at halftime, but Carolina was thoroughly outmatched 20 to nothing in the second half. Things couldn’t have gone much worse for Carolina as they lost 25-3. It was supposed to be a close matchup, and they were supposed to come out on top, but neither of those things ended up happening. One thing holding Carolina back was the mediocre play of RB Chuba Hubbard, who did not have his best game: he rushed for 28 yards on 12 carries.

Atlanta is now 3-3 while Carolina sits at 3-4. Atlanta is 1-1 after wins this season, and the Panthers are 0-3 after losses.
