Duke is going bowling for the first time since 2018 and is 6-8 all-time in bowl games. The Blue Devils have won the last three times they’ve played in a bowl, most recently the 2018 Independence Bowl. Coach Mike Elko is finishing his first season in Durham after a four-year stint as defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.

This is the first meeting between UCF and Duke. The Military Bowl began in 2008 and the first five games were played at Washington’s RFK Stadium before moving to Annapolis in 2013. The game was not played in 2020 or 2021 due to complications from the COVID-19 pandemic.
