The Orange are off to a 3-0 start for the second consecutive season under head coach Dino Babers, who is coaching the team for his eighth season. Syracuse is coming off the first away game of the season, beating the Purdue Boilermakers 35-20, during which Garret Shrader put on a dominant performance including a dazzling pair of fakes that got national attention and prompted Babers to call him a “magician.”
Now the Orange take on a West Point team fresh off a 37-29 win over UTSA. Syracuse holds the head to head lead 11-10 against the Black Knights, but that’s ancient history for these two teams who have not faced off since 1996.
