Air Force (2-1, 0-1 Mountain West) started the season out strong before losing its first game of the college football season in week three last week. Air Force came out on the wrong side of a defensive nail-biter against Wyoming, falling 17-14. This week, the Falcons will take on Nevada (2-2), who took a step up into the power five last week but got shutout 27-0 by Iowa. Both teams now have an eye on getting back in the win column, and will face each other in Colorado Springs on Friday night. The game will be the Mountain West opener for the Wolfpack.

Prior to last week’s loss, Air Force had been an offensive juggernaut. The Falcons put up 48 points in a 48-17 win over the Northern Iowa Panthers, then trounced the Colorado Buffaloes 41-10 in their next game.

On the other side, Nevada’s 2-0 start was built on defense. That included a 23-12 win over New Mexico State to start the season, and a 38-14 victory against Texas State the following week.
