The SEC and Big Ten clash again on Monday afternoon when LSU battles Purdue in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. The Tigers are under first-year head coach Brian Kelly and he led them all the way to the SEC Championship game thanks to a big overtime win against Alabama during the regular season. Unfortunately for the Tigers they just didn’t have enough to upset Georgia in the title game and had to settle for the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl as a consolation prize. Monday, though, they will look to show that they belong against a Purdue team that is also coming off a conference title game loss.

The Boilermakers surprised a lot of people by winning the Big Ten West division and making it to the Big Ten Championship game.

They played well in the title game, but just couldn’t get over the hump and knock off No. 2 Michigan.

It was the first championship game appearance for the Boilermakers, but shortly after the loss head coach Jeff Brohm left the program to go back to his alma mater Louisville.

It was a tough blow for the Boilermakers, but Monday they will look to shock the world and knock off No. 17 LSU and get a huge bowl win.
