Tampa Bay Rays vs. Houston Astros

The Tampa Bay Rays are headed to the American League Championship Series, facing off against reigning pennant-winners the Houston Astros.

The Rays swept the Toronto Blue Jays in their best-of-three Wild Card series, then beat the New York Yankees 3-2 in the ALDS. Tampa Bay won the deciding Game 5 on an eighth-inning home run by Mike Brosseau off Aroldis Chapman. This is the Rays’ first trip back to the ALCS since winning the pennant in 2008.

The Astros finished the regular season 29-31 but have been on fire in the playoffs. They swept the Minnesota Twins in the Wild Card, then beat the AL West rival Oakland A’s in four games in the ALDS.

Will there be fans?

There will not be fans at the ALCS in San Diego, but MLB said about 11,500 tickets will be available for each game in the NL Championship Series and World Series in Arlington, Texas.
