The Vancouver Canucks will welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins to Rogers Arena for an NHL game on Friday. Vancouver won their last game 5-4 against the Seattle Kraken. Ilya Mikheyev scored two goals while Conor Garland, Andrei Kuzmenko and Elias Pettersson scored one goal each as Vancouver edged Seattle in a high scoring match.
Vancouver head coach Bruce Boudreau secured his 600th win as a coach in the NHL but said all his players are worthy of the praise. Speaking after the game, Bruce said, “I haven’t been thinking about that since about the third game. I just wanted to get the win for the guys and let them feel better. And hopefully, this sort of little streak doesn’t happen again on the negative side.”
The Pittsburgh Penguins on the other hand lost their last game 4-1 to the Calgary Flames. Evgeni Malkin was the only Penguins player to get on the scoresheet as the Penguins lost by 3 goals. Malkin also had 6 shots on goal but he could only get past Jacob Markström once who starred in goal for Calgary. Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin spoke after the game and said, “They obviously knew we played last night. They tried to establish that heavy forecheck that they have.”
