After opening its Big 12 slate with a road victory against an in-state rival, TCU plays its final out-of-conference matchup against SMU in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday afternoon. Following a stunning shootout loss to upstart Colorado in their season opener, the Horned Frogs have recovered by winning two consecutive games to improve to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play this season. The Mustangs, on the other hand, bounced back from a tough loss to No. 16 Oklahoma with a lopsided victory over Prairie View last week to improve to 2-1 on the season. Last season, the Horned Frogs outlasted SMU for a 42-34 victory at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas.

Last week, TCU won big in its Big 12 opener with a 36-13 victory over Houston on the road. The Horned Frogs had 564 yards of total offense, holding Houston without an offensive touchdown, the second straight week they’ve held an opponent out of the end zone. Chandler Morris threw for 314 passing yards and two touchdowns in the win.

As for Southern Methodist, the Mustangs rolled to a 69-0 victory over Prairie View last Saturday night in Dallas. Quarterback Preston Stone threw for five touchdown passes and ran for another score in a dominant win at home.

The Horned Frogs look to make it three straight wins when they host SMU on Saturday.
